Judges 2012

Adam Sklute Artistic Director of Ballet West,

following a 25-year career as a dancer with The Joffrey Ballet which began under Robert Joffrey. He served as Assistant Ballet Master/Artistic Coordinator prior to his appointment at Ballet West in 2007. For Ballet West, he introduced a modern repertoire to its established classical heritage as well as developed Ballet West’s Innovations program, designed to nurture and present new works by local, national, and international artists. He actively oversees Ballet West’s Academy, teaching and working closely with the faculty. He created Ballet West’s Viewpoint panel discussion series and speaks regularly at the company’s Director’s Pointe program, as well as throughout Utah. Sklute is also a guest teacher and coach for dance programs and workshops nationwide, as well as an adjunct professor of dance at the University of Utah.

Nineveh Dinha anchor/ reporter

Nineveh started off her career in Yuma, Arizona at KYMA and before that, got her degree in Broadcast Journalism in California. She’s Assyrian by descent but was born in Sweden, and though most of her family is in Europe she decided to stay out west. She now works in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has even won an ‘Edward R. Murrow Award’ for her work. Nineveh Dinha anchors Fox 13′s 5pm and 9pm weekend newscasts. She also reports during the week for Good Day Utah, Live at Eleven, Live at 5 and Fox 13′s New at Nine.

Jennifer Hardman  reporter

Jennifer Hardman is an energetic Features Reporter for KSL 5 News Today.  Previously she worked as an on-air host for 3 years for Park City Television hosting the Mountain Morning Show, Mountain Weekend Show and Festival After Dark during the Sundance Film Festival.  She loves talking to people from all walks of life and has interviewed celebrities, to top Olympic athletes and everything in between that Utah has to offer.  Jen also loves the live audience side of things as an Emcee.  She has emceed events for the National Ability Center, Peace House, Women’s Business Network, Ski Parties and more.  Jen gives back every chance she can to local charities and recently spent one month in Uganda, Africa working in Orphanages.

Melissa Fox  brand manager

Missy graduated from Brigham Young University earning a BS and MS in Accounting from BYU’s Marriot School of Accountancy.  Since then she’s worked in visual design for J. Crew and as a product manager for Del Sol where she sourced and developed apparel and homegoods. Missy currently works as a brand manager for Maggie Sottero, where she oversees the development and marketing of Maggie’s prom line, Flirt.

Wendy Harris  BYU-I Interior Design Faculty

Wendy Harris, CKE, ASID has over 30 years of experience in professional interior design and higher education.  Her professional experience has ranged from visual merchandising, architectural illustration, and retail sales to residential, corporate, healthcare, hospitality, and lighting design.  She has been employed as a full-time Interior Design faculty member at Brigham Young University – Idaho for eighteen years; additionally, she worked as an adjunct Interior Design instructor at Northern Arizona University for ten years.  She has been the kitchen and bath instructor and coordinator for BYU-Idaho’s NKBA accredited program since 1994 and has recently been appointed by NKBA as a Verification Evaluator for accreditation verification visits.  She also serves as the faculty advisor for both NKBA and ASID student chapters.  Her students have achieved tremendous success in NKBA student design competitions, including winners in the NKBA Student Design Competitions (both Kitchen and Bath categories) and the NKBA/GE Charette, as well as the GE Dream Kitchen Design, Best by Broan, Lamps Plus, and K+BB Student Essay competitions.

David Heuvel  Costume Production Director, Ballet West

David Heuvel is presently Costume Production Director for Ballet West. He has been associated with Ballet West since 1979. Prior to his work in the United States, he was Chief Costumer for Ballet at P.A.C.T. in South Africa. Apart from Heuvel’s work with Ballet West, he has designed and built costumes for ballet companies both nationally and internationally, including Ballet Du Nord (France), Alberta Ballet, Ballet Met, Singapore Ballet, Oregon Ballet Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, American Repertory Ballet, Carolina Ballet, Ballet Hawaii, Nashville Ballet and Ballet Memphis.

      Heidi Larsen

Heidi Larsen, Salt Lake magazine’s Senior Art Director, Ogden native and default fashion stylist, has the goal of proving that Utah’s fashion scene consists of more than North Face jackets and hiking boots. Now, with local boutiques carrying hip, fashion-forward lines, her job has gotten much more fun. After a 13 year stint in the Los Angeles publishing world, she photographed everyone from Eva Longoria to Ultimate fighters, professional bodybuilders to NASCAR racers. She lives in Olympus Cove with her husband, daughter and two dogs whom you’ve seen in the pages of Salt Lake because she calls on them often for free modeling gigs.

      Clark Butterfield Clark was born in 1986 and raised in Alpine Utah. In 2005 Clark  founded zuriick, a collection of mens and womens casual footwear based on principles of minimalism and color. Then Clark moved to NYC and attended FIT.  He then took a position at Marc Jacobs where he designed for Marc by Marc Jacobs and the Jacobs specialty line as well as web and graphic design, Clark also was responsible for designing many of the large window displays in Marc Jacobs stores. Clark currently lives in Brooklyn NYC and is in production for his new line under the label Oliver Clark. He also has freelanced for many major labels and companies including Cassina, Marais USA, Brooklyn Industries, Chairlift (band), Pour la Victoire and many others. Clarks work can be seen here.    Marc Herndon Marc is an interior designer with RNL in Denver, Colorado and a graduate of James Madison University.  He has over ten years experience in the commercial interior design industry, and has worked with a large number of local and nationally recognized clients including the University of Colorado, The World Bank Group, Quizno’s, the Army Corps of Engineers, and Prudential Financial.  Prior to moving to Denver in 2005, he was an interior designer with OPX in Washington, D.C. He has served the IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter as the Vice-President of Government and Regulatory Affairs, and has been a Board member for the Colorado Interior Design Coalition (CIDC) since 2006.  He is currently the President for the IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter.     Susie McCarty Susie launched the modeling and acting business in 1974. McCarty Agency represents some of the finest talent in the Intermountain West. Countless models and actors began their careers with McCarty and achieved great success in Los Angeles, New York and Europe. In Susie’s words, ” The last 37 years has been one of the greatest adventures of my life. A heart journey on a roller coaster, always thrilling, a little scary , but definitely worth the ride.”

Nicole Wimmer  Nicole Wimmer started in the fashion industry at age 14 modeling in New York.  She has modeled in numerous runway shows, print ads, and television segments.  As a fashion model Nicole had the opportunity to work with Actor/Director Ben Stiller while featured in Zoolander.  She has appeared in Magazines such as: Maxim, J-14, Gotham, and Coiffure Q and worked with clients like: Casio, Shapes by Anton, Roxxy, Redkin, Albert-Chloe, Cake Boutique, and more. Currently she works at Utah’s Finest Talent Agency, McCarty Talent, as their New Faces Director and helps assist those interested in Acting, Modeling and Voice Over work.  She also coaches new models in runway, photo-movement and auditioning skills. Now as an Actress Nicole has recently appeared in Commercials such as Union Wireless and The Peppermill Hotel and Casino. You will be able to see her soon in an up and coming top secret nationwide television show that is being filmed here in Utah.  Nicole Wimmer     Keith Bryce  Keith Bryce is many things: a fashion guru, an aspiring clothing designer, product enhancer, graphic artist, print master, entrepreneur, an extremely passionate fine artist – basically considered a fallen angel, with an extreme passion for life, fashion, and creativity.  Keith is looking to find his opportunity & other passionate individuals with there own sense of style to share it with.  Including his adventures on the T.V. show Project Runway, his life has been colorful with creation and concept. Keith has designed everything from outfits for T.V. stars, denim jeans, cocktail dresses and wedding gowns. He has done over 15 fashion shows including being the fashion coordinator at the Utah Arts festival for 2 years.  Turning his retail store into a private studio, he has styled everything from food, custom gowns, products, beauty shots, and conceptual photo shoots.  Designing was always something he really enjoyed.  It began with tee shirts and jackets and now he make everything. Keith is grateful for his family and the burn inside for success.  Keith adds “I won’t give up until I’m known for conceptual designs and can create with financial security.”  Keith Bryceb     Nancy Bill  Nancy K. Bill, Executive Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Utah/Idaho Chapter, has spent 27 years in health related non-profit management and fundraising.  Originally from Chicago, Nancy has spent the last four years as a resident of Utah.   She is a member of Executive Women International, Salt Lake City Chapter.  She has been married for 47 years, is the mother of 2, and proud grandmother of 3.  Her second desired career dream…interior design!  NancyBill  Danny Nappi  Danny was born in 1977 in Anaheim, CA Danny’s parents moved to Utah when he was 3 months old. He grew up in South Jordan, UT  and attended Bingham High School. Danny got his associates degree from Salt Lake Community College and his bachelors in Political Science from the University of Utah. He worked at Lovesac as the head product designer for 2 years when he quit in 2005 he started Nappi Clothing and now has a store on 21st South and Main Street.  NappiClothing  Tessa Woolf  Tessa Woolf is the Associate Editor of Utah Style & Design magazine, the Editor of Utah Bride & Groom magazine, and a Contributing Editor for Salt Lake magazine. Born and raised in Salt Lake City, she has also lived in Southern California and Spain. She graduated from Westminster College where she studied journalism, communications and Spanish. Her passion lies in magazines—when not at work editing or writing, she is at home devouring the latest decor, wedding, fashion and lifestyle publications.  Tessa-Woolf
